The road leading to Les Goudes has a certain charm. As you wind through the curves, Marseille fades from view, giving way to cliffs, the wind, and the ever-changing colors of the Mediterranean. It is against this backdrop that the Tuba Club is nestled. Housed in a subtly restored former swimmers’ club, the venue has managed to preserve its soul. Stone, light, and the sea come together to create a setting where everything seems to fall naturally into place.
In the kitchen, Chef Sylvain Rouquerol crafts a precise and authentic seafood menu. Highlights include a superb barbecued turbot, served plain with its own juices and reductions, and a remarkable tomato salad that reminds us that simplicity is often the most beautiful signature. On the wine front, sommelier Geoffrey Roumilhac—aka “JojotheWineGuy”—has completely revamped the wine cellar and introduces diners to magnificent bottles, including Pierre-Vincent Girardin’s 2024 Grandes Épenottes.
But the Tuba Club is about more than just its kitchen and wine cellar. With the sun, the wind, and the sound of the waves, the place has a unique atmosphere. And when you return, you realize that a true journey is only worthwhile for the emotions it stirs.
