The Hand Roll, According to Cyril Lignac
After taking on a number of projects in recent years, Cyril Lignac is unveiling a new Japanese-inspired spot in Paris. Named Dragon, this counter-style restaurant is located on Rue du Dragonin Saint-Germain-des-Prés, has made hand rolls its signature dish.
The concept is as simple as it is effective: a crispy sheet of nori, warm Japanese rice, carefully selected fish, and a few specific seasonings—all prepared to order. In addition to these rolls, the menu features crispy rice chips, flambéed crudos, a few indulgent desserts, and a selection of bottled cocktails, all designed to complement this urban, laid-back cuisine.
In terms of decor, light wood, leather, and Japanese-inspired elements come together to create a bright space where the spirit of street food meets a certain Parisian elegance. This is yet another string to Cyril Lignac’s bow, confirming once again his penchant for accessible concepts without compromising on the quality of the ingredients.
Over the years, we’ve had the chance to meet and interview Cyril Lignac on several occasions. Behind the media personality everyone knows lies an entrepreneur whose career commands respect. A career built on hard work, boldness, and humility—qualities that shine through in each of his restaurants. Dragon is yet another example of this.
From here in Switzerland, we couldn’t pass up this opportunity. We wish him every success in this new adventure. Who knows… maybe one day, this story will unfold on this side of the border as well.
