Nicolas Herbin Brings Bordeaux to the Table
What story does Bordeaux tell today? Nicolas Herbin invites you to discover it, glass in hand, on October 29 and 30 in Geneva. The founder ofORIGINE 1980 is bringing together Thomas Duclos, a consultant to grands crus such as Figeac and La Conseillante, and Stephen Carrier, managing director of Château Fieuzal, a Grand Cru Classé from Pessac-Léognan. On the agenda: two evenings of tasting, conversation, and dining in good company.
Natürlich and Port Gitana
First meeting on Thursday, October 29, at the Stamm Natürlich, for a master class titled “Bordeaux Today.” Twenty-four great wines from the 2023 vintage will be served blind, including Carmes Haut-Brion, La Conseillante, Canon, Figeac, Rauzan-Ségla, Pontet-Canet, and Montrose. It’s the perfect opportunity to let the wines speak for themselves before looking at the labels, compare impressions, and—no doubt—be pleasantly surprised. The evening will continue with a meal, paired with surprise wines drawn from Nicolas Herbin’s personal cellar. We can think of worse ways to keep the conversation going.
On Friday, October 30, we’re heading to theAuberge de Port Gitana for “Fieuzal Through the Ages.” Ten vintages—both red and white—will be tasted blind and then discussed, paired with a menu specially designed for the occasion by Chef Julien Casset. It’s a different way to experience Bordeaux, this time tracing the passage of time and exploring the interplay between the wines and the dishes. Mark your calendars!
