Benjamin Marais
Born in the Val-de-Loire region of France, Benjamin Marais was predestined to take an interest in wine. He trained as a sommelier, and his passion for wine remains undiminished. In fact, he loves discovering Geneva’s winegrowing estates.
Arriving in Geneva in 2008, he forged a reputation for himself with restaurant openings, first at Grill, the restaurant of the Hôtel Kempinski (now Fermont), then at Bayview, the restaurant of the Hôtel Président Wilson. After taking over management of L’Olivier de Provence in 2013, he joined forces a few years later with chef Gaëtan Thiron to take over
Benjamin is on hand to serve you gourmet seasonal dishes, and of course to advise you on the best possible food and wine pairing. Right now, black truffles are in the spotlight, and of course, a special Valentine’s dinner will be served at Le Philanthrope on February 14.
