After Wassmer, Bad Ragaz is banking on Campanella
In Bad Ragaz, the post-Sven Wassmer era is beginning to take shape. While the hotel and the three-Michelin-starred chef will part ways in February 2027, another name is emerging to lead the way forward: Marco Campanella. He will help develop a new restaurant at the Quellenhof, one of the resort’s hotels. The opening of this new restaurant is scheduled for spring 2027.
2 times two stars
Having worked with chefs such as Andreas Caminada and Rolf Fliegauf, the chef took the helm at La Brezza at the Eden Roc in Ascona in 2018, before also overseeing its winter location at the Tschuggen Grand Hotel in Arosa. Both restaurants boast two Michelin stars and 19 GaultMillau points, in addition to his title of “Chef of the Year 2025.”
To find out what he’ll be cooking up in Bad Ragaz, we’ll have to wait a little longer: neither the name nor the exact details of the future restaurant have been revealed. The chef hopes to develop, together with his team, a cuisine inspired by his experience and open to international influences.
This new addition is part of a broader transformation of the resort’s offerings. A second restaurant dedicated to health-conscious cuisine is planned for the Quellenhof in the spring of 2027, while the Italian restaurant Nesso and the Thai restaurant Sanook are set to open as early as December 2026. In Bad Ragaz, the coming months are shaping up to be very busy.
