From tasting to service, from vine to glass: the ASSP teaches the fundamentals of a profession on the move.

In Switzerland, career paths are being reinvented, and sommellerie is no exception. For over thirty years, the Swiss Association of Professional Sommeliers (ASSP) has been a key player in the transmission and recognition of wine professions. Its flagship program: a structured 20-day training course at Changins – and soon in Fribourg and Valais – which delivers a professional certificate recognized in over 70 countries. Open to all levels, the course is designed for both working professionals and those undergoing retraining. Far more than simply serving wine, the course covers viticulture, winemaking, vineyards of the world, tasting, cellar management, food and wine pairing and customer relations. Over 200 wines and beverages are tasted throughout the course, supervised by top-level instructors. Designed as a real springboard, this training opens the door to a wide range of career opportunities: sommelier in the restaurant trade, wine merchant, buyer, salesperson or even specialized journalist. It’s a concrete reminder that wine, before being a product, remains a profession and a culture to be passed on. See you on March 2 at Changins to discover the ASSP courses!
