Toast, the new sandwich shop in Eaux-Vives
If you’re a regular visitor to the area, you’ll no doubt have noticed the arrival of a new establishment on rue des Eaux-Vives. Behind its window, still covered by a tarpaulin, lies a new place dedicated to gourmet pleasures. Toast has a simple name and uncluttered decor. Founder Julien Lindt has a tempting range of local sandwiches with seasonal ingredients. The sandwiches will be made from sourdough bread toasted to perfection. Three to four evolving recipes will soon be on offer. These include a roast chicken sandwich with Gruyère, lemon and tarragon mayonnaise and mustard seed pickles. There will also be a vegetarian version featuring roasted vegetables, labneh and kimchi. Conceived as a place of generosity and conviviality, the establishment will also allow you to enjoy a quality coffee or some home-made pastries before indulging in a sandwich for lunch. One evening a week, the address will transform to welcome you around a grilled cheese to share, accompanied by wines and beers. Enough to prolong the moment! Please note that the opening is scheduled for the end of the month.
