The cinema will have to wait a little longer. But as of June 8, the Plaza's doors will open once again with the Brasserie Europe, the first visible face of a project designed to breathe new life into one of Geneva's most emblematic addresses.

While Genevans are still waiting for the reopening of the legendary Plazaa first light will go on rue de Chantepoulet. On Monday June 8, the Brasserie Europe will welcome its first guests to the former complex designed by Marc J. Saugey. Belgian chef Jean-Jacques Danthine will be at the helm, offering a contemporary take on the European brasserie, including a revisited beef tartare, waterzooi with local fish and other nods to his Belgian roots. Above and beyond the food, this opening marks a symbolic step: the gradual return of the Plaza to the Geneva landscape. For before the reopening of the historic cinema, the future cinema-hotel or the exhibition spaces announced for 2027, it is now through gourmet delights that the project is beginning to come to life.
