Reza Nahaboo joins the very exclusive circle of Master Sommeliers

Fewer than 300 people worldwide have earned the title of Master Sommelier since its inception in 1969. Réza Nahaboo is now part of this particularly exclusive circle. After nearly ten years of preparation, the Head Sommelier and Professor of Practical Arts at theEHL has earned one of the most prestigious honors in the world of wine.

Having already been named Switzerland’s Best Sommelier in 2016 and the 12th Best Sommelier in the World in 2023, he has reached a new milestone that recognizes not only his mastery of wine tasting but also his expertise in wine service and his knowledge of wines.

But this distinction goes beyond mere personal achievement. It confirms a trend that EHL has been fostering for several years: surrounding itself with recognized leaders in their fields in order to offer an education that comes as close as possible to excellence. With its six “Meilleurs Ouvriers de France,” winners of international competitions, and now a Master Sommelier, the Lausanne-based institution continues to strengthen a faculty that is now regarded as a benchmark far beyond Switzerland’s borders.
