While La Pinte des Mossettes will soon be taking a break to reinvent itself, Nicolas Darnauguilhem continues on his path, faithful to his exacting standards and his inhabited cuisine.

What a joy it is to finally have news of chef Nicolas Darnauguilhem, a favourite figure on our gourmet escapades and the driving force behind La Pinte des Mossettes. An announcement at the end of the year by Gault & Millau revealed that this timeless restaurant on the heights of Cerniat was about to experience a much-needed interlude. La Pinte is to close its doors temporarily, to allow time for the ambitious renovation work initiated by its new owners, Brigitte and Thomas Frei. A hotel couple well known for their roots in Gstaad, they have chosen to breathe new life, with respect and vision, into a place already full of charm. The project is full of surprises. Rooms will be created to allow guests to extend the experience, to fully indulge in a gastronomic journey. It will take two years to sublimate the current establishment without betraying its soul.

In the meantime, Nicolas Darnauguilhem is not staying quiet. He’s putting down his knives at the Berghotel Zur Sauin Abländschen, where he’ll be able to continue creating a cuisine that’s like him: precise, inhabited and deeply sincere. We’re happy for him. Happy to know that he’s on the move, faithful to his high standards. And we’re already looking forward to rediscovering La Pinte des Mossettes in a new, enlarged and developed form, in keeping with a talent that continues to grow in stature.
