Michelin announces the arrival of a guide dedicated to the American Southwest, with Las Vegas as the rallying point to reveal its first stars.

Le Michelin Guide continues to redraw its American map. After investing in several major metropolises in recent years, the red gastronomic bible is now tackling the Southwestern United States with a brand new regional selection covering Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico and Utah. At the heart of this launch is a symbol: Las Vegas. The city will host the very first ceremony dedicated to this brand-new guide, marking Michelin’s return to the entertainment capital more than fifteen years after its last appearance. According to the press release, inspectors are already hard at work, criss-crossing the region to identify the tables that will make up this first edition. Beyond the hype, the stakes are clear: to position the American Southwest as a gastronomic destination in its own right. In this equation, Las Vegas – long reduced to its palatial restaurants – intends to demonstrate that it can now play the whole range, from fine dining to more free-spirited addresses off the beaten track of the famous Strip.
