March 13, Khouris in Zurich’s Seefeld district. After a successful run as a pop-up, the concept devised by Sami Khouri is now firmly established. The DNA of the place remains intact: dishes at the center of the table, designed for sharing. Silky hummus, labneh, simmered shawarma, mezzés to share. All the recipes come from Susan Khouri’s family book, Mama Khouri, who is still very much involved in the adventure. The warm, contemporary decor features long banquettes, a spectacular mirrored ceiling and a terrace in shades of green and apricot. Open from 8 a.m., the restaurant is open all day – from coffee, lunch and weekend brunch to dinner – and is also launching a Deli to extend the takeaway experience. “We’re here to stay,” says Sami Khouri.
