Christophe Renou: Summer in Six Scents
Geneva certainly has no shortage of ice cream shops. Every spring seems to bring its share of new storefronts and house-made flavors. Was it really necessary to add yet another one? Christophe Renou answers in his own way: not with an overwhelming collection, but with six fragrances that meet the same high standards as his pastries.
The Meilleur Ouvrier de France is unveiling its first line of artisanal ice creams and sorbets. The ice cream selection includes an organic vanilla from Madagascar, an intense 80% dark chocolate, and an Ethiopian coffee with delicate roasted notes. Those who prefer something refreshing will enjoy three sorbets: strawberry, raspberry, and an exotic blend of mango, passion fruit, and pineapple.
More than just a summer collection, this new line extends the Maison Renou brand’s universe into a realm where the quality of the ingredients and the precision of the recipes remain paramount. It remains to be seen whether this signature style will be enough to carve out a niche in a summer where the competition has never been fiercer. One thing is certain: Christophe Renou isn’t entering the ice cream market to follow a trend, but to leave his own mark. The ice creams and sorbets are available in the shops in Carouge, Rolle, and Veyrier.
