In Confignon, the village inn will officially reopen its doors on May 1, 2026, under the leadership of a new team determined to return to its original role.

It’s official… theAuberge de Confignon will raise its gastronomic curtain on May 1, 2026 under the impetus of three young hoteliers – Matteo Gassmann, Victor Charpentier and Thomas Mottu – with a simple idea: get back to basics. No overplayed concepts. Here, the ambition is clear: to make this address a place to pass through, dine and meet, true to its original role. “We didn’t set out to reinvent the auberge. We just wanted to make it live the way it used to,” says one of the founders. Joanna Collet is in charge of management, providing a smooth, attentive welcome. Matteo Gassmann oversees operations, while Victor Charpentier and Thomas Mottu develop links with the local community. In the kitchen, chef Antrix Esperanzate creates an easy-to-understand menu rooted in the seasons and local produce. The cuisine is straightforward and precise, with an emphasis on short circuits and the right taste.

True to its signature “Gîte & Couvert. Since 1960”, the establishment also offers fourteen simple, comfortable rooms, in keeping with the experience. In the heart of the village, with its terrace overlooking the Salève, the Auberge de Confignon aims to regain its place as a landmark for gourmets, locals and Genevans in search of a bit of the countryside.
