With its garden, light-filled dining room, and gourmet dishes, the Auberge de Confignon celebrates fine ingredients and the joy of hospitality. It’s a place where guests come as much for the setting as for the food.

After crossing the right bank, head toward Confignon, where the Auberge stands in the heart of the village, just a stone’s throw from a charming little square. With its spacious garden and view of the Salève, the terrace is incredibly charming on sunny days. At the entrance to the restaurant, the counter and wine bar promise a friendly atmosphere and carefully selected products.

Salève and the blue sky

The long, narrow main dining room is modern and bright thanks to the large floor-to-ceiling windows that line it. From the tables, the terrace, the Salève, and the blue sky come together to create a charming panorama, typical of the Geneva countryside. Inside, the staff goes out of their way to make guests feel welcome: the house offers a complimentary aperitif, and the owner comes by to greet us. Proof that the art of running an inn has lost none of its charm.

The menu, though short, is well-thought-out and showcases local produce and classic dishes. With a few vegetarian options, there’s something for everyone. Your taste buds will be awakened by the mimosa-style leeks, served with an egg from Ferme du Lignon and a white wine and herb sabayon. The leeks are melt-in-your-mouth tender yet retain a pleasant texture, while the rich and delicately tangy sabayon reveals lovely herbal notes. The egg ties the whole dish together perfectly. A classic starter, executed flawlessly, where the quality of the ingredients and the balance of flavors really hit the mark.

Creamy Risotto

As for the main course, vegetarians will be tempted by the creamy risotto with green asparagus and Sbrinz. It’s worth noting that this tasting took place a few weeks ago, when asparagus season was still in full swing. The rice is cooked to perfection. The Sbrinz adds an original local touch, while the cheese crisps provide the crunch that was missing. The dish as a whole reveals the bold flavors of asparagus, reflecting this time of year when green vegetables still take center stage. Generous and comforting, the main courses may leave little room for dessert, though one can easily imagine them being just as tempting.

A warm and welcoming spot, both in terms of the food and the service, yet modern and minimalist in its decor. With its breathtaking view of the beautiful countryside, local ingredients, and perfectly balanced flavors, it has everything you need to make you want to come back and explore the rest of the menu.
