Le Square is back at the table. To celebrate the opening of the Saint-Antoine archaeological site to the public, the collective is bringing together Ilona Quinodoz and Quentin Verne, as well as Matthias Ferré, chef at Bleu Nuit, for a dinner for 80 guests, with a menu designed as a succession of layers.

September 5 will mark the opening of the Saint-Antoine archaeological site to the public. The grand opening will feature activities and tours throughout the day to help visitors explore this site, which has been the subject of fifteen years of research. To wrap up the day, Le Square is back in action. The collective is reviving the “tables d’hôtes” events it previously organized at Mamco and the Grand Théâtre, this time setting up shop in a setting that is, to say the least, unique: the esplanade of the Saint-Antoine archaeological site.

80 guests

Ilona Quinodoz and Quentin Verne, founder of Le Square, will be there, accompanied by Matthias Ferré, chef at Bleu Nuit. Together, they will gather 80 guests around a large table for a menu specially designed for the occasion. And since we’ll be dining atop fifteen years of excavations, we might as well carry that theme right onto our plates. Matthias Ferré has conceived his menu as an exploration of the site: a “Prospecting—First Clues” to start, followed by a “First Layer—Unearthing,” and then a “Second Layer—Main Finds.” Spit-roasted chicken or teriyaki-glazed candied eggplant will be among the highlights.

To round out the culinary discoveries, the “Last Course—A Sweet Discovery” will take the form of an apricot tart served with fior di latte ice cream. It’s a playful way to bring the venue to life right on the plate and, above all, marks the return of a concept Le Square loves: bringing people together, taking over a space that isn’t necessarily suited for it, and, for one evening, setting up a large table there.
