Izakaya, Danny Khezzar’s new address

Danny Khezzar continues his adventure in Geneva, replacing Hobbo on the Quai du Seujet. Remaining faithful to the right bank, the chef of the Bayview at Président Wilson is moving a little further west to open Izakayaa festive restaurant and cocktail bar that is already shaping up to be an ambitious new project. Facing the Rhône, just a stone’s throw from the Mandarin Oriental, the address promises immersion in the vibrant hustle and bustle of Tokyo nights. In a hushed, elegant atmosphere, Izakaya combines the spirit of Japanese neighborhood bars with the sophistication of contemporary dining. Behind the counter, a sushi master chisels raw textures while the binchotan grill releases smoky flavors, striking a balance between authenticity and boldness, the chef’s signature. The party continues at the bar, where the mixology and musical programming are a daily ballet. “At Izakaya, I wanted to convey the convivial spirit of Japanese cuisine through a menu for sharing, where great Japanese classics, delicate nigiri and pieces of meat grilled with binchotan mingle. Condiments and fermentation play a central role, adding that gastronomic twist I like to explore”, confides Danny Khezzar.
