Cipollino opens in Geneva

Giovanni Tassistro has decided to open his second transalpine restaurant in French-speaking Switzerland, on Boulevard des Philosophes. After Lausanne, this young restaurateur has taken over the arcade that once housed Le Philanthrope… just a stone’s throw from the Place de Plainpalais and the Parc des Bastions. The menu resembles that of the Olympic capital’s famous establishment, and Genevans can look forward to fresh pasta dishes such as campanelle with basil pesto accompanied by stracciatella and olive oil, or rigatoni with a spicy sauce of shallots and Calabrian n’duja. But it’s also the pizzas that await future guests, with the Ortolana topped with mozzarella, red onions, taggiasche olives, sun-dried tomatoes and eggplant, or the Parma and Burrata featuring 18-month Parma ham.
