Pastry chef Christophe Michalak has officially sold his company, bringing to an end over fifteen years of entrepreneurship.

Christophe Michalak recently announced the complete sale of his company, including its Parisian boutiques and Japanese franchises. Having become a minority shareholder in 2023, he is now leaving the company for good, which is now owned by the Kresk investment fund. In over fifteen years, the former pastry chef of the Plaza Athénée has imposed a vision of pastry that is both accessible and modern. With a dozen locations in Paris, several in Japan and almost 150 employees, the Michalak brand has become a benchmark beyond the circle of enthusiasts. At 52, Christophe Michalak wants to “open another chapter” and regain more freedom, away from the constraints of an international group. According to several French media, he plans to devote himself to personal projects, including a cycling tour of France to meet artisans and young pastry chefs.
