Cédric Grolet opens his chocolate factory
But where will it end? Cédric Grolet ? After London, Singapore, Monaco and Saint-Tropez, the famous pastry chef, known for his fruit-shaped desserts (and formerly, his reinterpretation of the Rubik’s cube), is opening a fourth boutique in Paris with “Cédric et la Chocolaterie”. A playful nod to Roald Dahl’s bewitching chocolate world, this new boutique dedicated to the world of chocolate is located at 33 avenue de l’Opéra in Paris’s second arrondissement. Half-store, half-laboratory, the decor opens onto a magical world of chocolate walls and hanging trees, as if petrified in frozen cocoa. Along the shelves, an original collection is unveiled: tablets, bonbons, jellies, spreads and even “fruit-boxes” in three chocolates, all designed with the precision and creativity for which the chef is renowned. All that’s missing is Willy Wanka’s golden ticket…
