What does “eating well” mean in the Anthropocene era? Why does the way we produce and consume food threaten our health and that of the planet? From the lush outdoor vegetable garden to the spectacular art installations in the galleries, the tour invites visitors to rethink our relationship with food: biological diversity at risk, excess waste, health imbalances and social inequalities. From June 19, visitors to theAlimentarium will be able to discover the great food revolutions, from ancient civilizations to the regenerative agriculture of the future, via fast food and the agri-food industry. Guided by photographs, objects, videos and questions, visitors are encouraged to reflect on their choices and their place in this vital system. An exhibition that is both lucid and poetic, between science, history and conscience. “We won’t be able to feed 10 billion people without radically transforming the way we produce, distribute and consume food. No one can escape the food system, but everyone can play a part in it: through their choices, their demands, their commitment. says Boris Wastiau, Director of the Alimentarium.
