Jacques, a new haunt in the Old Town
On the cobblestones of haute Genève Jacques. Neither a confidential speakeasy nor a pompous bistro: simply a neighborhood bar, but one that’s built to last. The place exudes conviviality, and you’ll feel at home with a drink in your hand.

Signature cocktails
The cocktail menu, designed by Romain Capdevielle, navigates between reinvented classics and lighter compositions. The Matcha Martini is a perfect example: vodka, almond milk and matcha powder, a creamy, plant-based accord that bursts with freshness on the palate. Rita Lavande is a wiser but no less convincing non-alcoholic version, with a subtle blend of lime, lavender syrup and effervescence. Two faces for the same goal: seduction without chatter.
For snacking
Here, there’s no question of leaving glasses unattended. Broccoli salad with fresh goat’s cheese, tomme vaudoise and sardines are honest and perfect for a light snack… As for the homemade hummus, it’s very well executed: creamy, unctuous and well spiced. But it’s the pâté en croûte by Romain PelletMeilleur ouvrier de France 2015, steals the show. With its shiny crust, dense, perfectly seasoned filling and clean-cut slicing, this piece alone is worth the detour.

The soundscape is that of a popular bistro: laughter, cross-talk, clinking glasses. The service, attentive without being excessive, contributes to the impression of familiarity. People come for an impromptu aperitif, and stay longer than expected. On weekends, the place opens its doors from midday, with toasted sandwiches and a big broccoli salad to prolong the spirit of the neighborhood house. Perfect for your next visit to the Old Town.
