I could have taken you to a brasserie. To a bistro. Or to a top-tier gourmet restaurant. But this time, we’re heading to Spain… without leaving Paris. Casa Pregonda popped up on my culinary radar somewhat by chance. One reservation later, here I am seated at this spot in the Marais that’s fully booked night after night. Two seatings? We always grumble a little. But then we quickly understand why.
Here, the atmosphere is part of the experience. Conversations flow naturally from Spanish to French, real candles light up the tables, and, for a few hours, Paris seems to fade into the distance. But if I had to pick just one dish, it would without a doubt be the squid ink rice, served with aioli and magnificent carabineros.
So yes, Spain has made its way to Paris. And if you’re looking for a lovely Iberian getaway, Casa Pregonda is definitely worth a visit.
