After Paris and Monte-Carlo, chef Yannick Alléno continues to extend his gastronomic empire to the land of the rising sun. This time, it’s in the heart of Osaka, Japan, that he has opened his Japanese counter L’Abysse. Here, gourmets can enjoy a culinary experience where French and Japanese techniques blend with a deep respect for ingredients from Japan, and expect dishes such as artichoke tofu and smoked pike egg. L’Abysse has opened its doors in contemporary, soothing surroundings on the 37th floor of the Four Seasons Hotel Osaka. Faced with such an entrepreneurial development, we can only deplore the fact that the Geneva authorities lacked foresight and open-mindedness in passing up the opportunity to welcome this exceptional chef to our beautiful city of Calvin.
