This is one of the best series of the moment, at least (by far) the most realistic in its portrayal of the world of cooking. Intense, violent, insulting, stressful, irreverent, poignant… all the elements that reflect the daily life of a restaurant are brought together. Where better than Chicago to be the setting for this culinary drama in which the Berzatto family unites, tears apart, insults and reconciles after the death of a tortured older brother who leaves a restaurant as a poisoned gift. Over the course of the episodes, Carmy (a brilliant young chef who has left the family context to work behind the stoves of the world’s best restaurants) returns to shake up all the habits of this little world and transforms the sandwich shop into a gourmet restaurant. A fascinating epic that’s well worth the detour. ADVERTISING
