The return of the Lyric
It’s been a long time coming, but it’s finally official: the restaurant Le Lyrique is undergoing a major transformation. This emblematic Geneva institution has long been part of the culinary heritage of our beautiful city of Calvin. In recent years, however, the level of service and culinary standards has not always been up to scratch. Since the beginning of the year, under the impetus of the new team, things have been moving fast. Among those driving the change is Angelo Citiulo, chef of La Closerie in Cologny, with Andrea Polcino, former chef of the Four Seasons’ Michelin-starred Il Lago, at his side in the kitchen. The duo are rekindling the flame in the kitchen with a contemporary brasserie cuisine of the highest quality, inspired by Transalpine cuisine. The new menu features vitello tonnato, beef carpaccio, artichoke salad, asparagus and morel risotto and lobster spaghetti. They sit alongside some of the classics that have made this brasserie’s reputation, such as Lyrique sauerkraut, beef tartar and elephant ear. The wine list has also been enriched with some fine references. In-house desserts are created by pastry chef Audrey Sanda. We’re delighted to (re)discover this restaurant, which has long been an elegant reference in the banking district.
