Some short stories are harder to write than others. News that makes us realize that time passes too quickly. And this news pinches the heart even more than the others. At the end of October, Berengère and Bertrand Lutaud, the founders of Carouge restaurant Yeastare stepping down to concentrate on their family life. This decision was taken in view of their personal lives, which have recently been disrupted by Berengère’s health problems. “After 6 years with Yeast, it was important for us to recharge our batteries, refocus on what’s essential and, above all, find ourselves again,” confirms the boss. Recently awarded the title of Master Sommelier, Bertrand remains confident about the future, and knows that life still holds many surprises in store for him.
Impossible to forget the addictive hare à la Royale, cooked according to the rules of the art, or the shared turbot topped with a delicate Grenoble-style sauce. It’s hard not to salivate at the memory of the crunchy cime di rapa, beet and beurre blanc, or the chocolate mousse with olive oil. Thank you for those frenzied tastings of American pinot noir, bewitching Piedmontese barolo and stunning Jura poulsard! So, let’s wish all the best to this on-stage and off-stage couple, who have more than once delighted, spoiled and cajoled us. Two beautiful people like we rarely meet, and who will be sorely missed… surely only to be found again.
