The Café de l’Amitié is (finally) open!
Designed as a contemporary Swiss bistro without overplayed folklore, the Café de l’Amitié is all about detail. Cozy banquettes, hushed alcoves, patiently restored original wood, hand-crafted mosaics, evolving posters designed by Galerie 1,2,3 and Swiss winks scattered everywhere: nothing here seems to have been placed at random. Even the mythical “Table de l’amitié”, already on site before the renovation, has been preserved and restored.
Behind the project is a simple desire: to create a lively, bright and warm place where people can come for a drink at the counter or to extend the evening with a good bottle of wine. The bar, with its fine cocktail menu, already promises to become a local landmark, while the cellar, run by Mattia Baracchetti, will combine fine references, in-house vintages and a spirit of sharing.
At this point, it’s impossible not to mention Jonas Bolle, the young chef we’ve been waiting for. After his acclaimed stints at Naturlich and then kā kitchen, he has finally found a playground to suit him. When you look at the menu, it’s hard not to be drawn between a lamb shoulder confit with reduced jus, a pizzetta fritta or mussels with new potatoes confit and Casimir sauce. That’s all we can say for now. The rest will be revealed during a tasting session that already looks particularly promising.
