Swiss hotels back on top

Growth was most noticeable in the cities. With 42,830,588 overnight stays, the Swiss accommodation sector recorded its best-ever year in terms of overnight stays. In the conurbations, the number of overnight stays was up by 4.7%. Last year’s pre-crisis levels were achieved not only in the Swiss guest segment, but also in the foreign guest segment. “The fact that the number of overnight stays is rising, and that we have been able to achieve record values in recent years – which is gratifying – is thanks to the tireless efforts of all those involved in tourism,” says Martin von Moos, President of Hôtellerie Suisse, in a press release. The umbrella association also takes a positive view of the past year. The association is delighted with the continued growth in the number of member establishments. By 2024, the number ofHôtellerie Suisse generated 76.8% of all overnight stays in Switzerland.
