Starck’s new hotel

Facing the Center Pompidou-Metz, Maison Heler stands out as an unidentified urban object, a nine-storey vertical manifesto topped by a Alsatian house. The complex houses 104 rooms and suites, two restaurants, two bars, and a range of modular event spaces. Philippe Starck calls it “Spartan Spartan luxury “where every detail tells of a possible world, where every element is a key to a larger enigma. Two dining areas extend this modern hotel immersion. On the first floor, La Cuisine de Rose, named after Manfred’s idealized love, is a romantic brasserie. The architect has created a comforting universe: white ceramics, touches of pink, carbon furniture and an origami airplane on the ceiling. The restaurant opens onto a terrace, a haven of light and greenery. La Maison de Manfred, meanwhile, is a dining room suspended at the top of the hotel.
