Michelin Switzerland Gets a New Look
A change of venue for the Swiss stars. On November 2, the ceremony will take place in the Andermatt concert hall, which forms an architectural complex with the Radisson Blu Hotel. The town in the canton of Uri thus takes over from Lausanne after four editions held at the EHL Hospitality Business School.
New Stars
The event will bring together award-winning restaurateurs and industry representatives. The new stars and winners of the Michelin special awards will be announced during the ceremony, prior to the publication of the complete selection on the website and app of the Michelin Guide.
The choice of Andermatt does raise some questions, however. While the resort in Uri certainly has clear ambitions in the areas of tourism and hospitality, one would like to understand what guides Michelin in selecting its destinations. Wouldn’t Geneva or Zurich also be ideal cities to host this event? The inspectors, however, have plenty to write about there.
Let’s hope, finally, that Gwendal Poullennec, international director of the Michelin Guide, will make the trip: the men and women who keep Swiss gastronomy alive certainly deserve his presence.
