Grandes Tables Suisses celebrates its 60th anniversary
At its annual general meeting in Lugano, the Association des Great Swiss Tables celebrated a double event: its 60th anniversary and the arrival of several new members to strengthen its ranks. Among them, five chefs from French-speaking Switzerland have joined this prestigious association, which brings together some of the greatest names in Swiss gastronomy. Geneva will be represented by Andrés Arocena (La Micheline), while Grégory Halgand (Hôtel de Ville d’Ollon), Alexandre Luquet (Le Bocca in Saint-Blaise) and the duo Christophe Genetti and Maël Gross (Les Touristes in Martigny) also join the association. This 2026 edition also marks a passing of the baton. Pierrot Ayer, an historic figure at Grandes Tables Suisses, was hailed by his peers as he retired after sixteen years on the committee, seven of them as president. Founded in 1966, the association continues to evolve, focusing on the next generation of chefs who are helping to shape Switzerland’s gastronomic landscape.
