With Giusi, Joséphine and Déborah have created a friendly Italian sandwich shop inspired by Milanese paninis. From lunch on the go to aperitivo, the Geneva address celebrates simple, sharing cuisine.

Joséphine studied at the Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne, while Déborah trained at the Ecole hôtelière de Genève. After their studies, their paths took them abroad: one to Paris, the other to Montreal. Despite the distance, the desire to create a joint project in their own image gradually took root.

Originally from Italy, Joséphine found her inspiration during a stay in Milan, where panino Milanese-style was all the rage. The idea of importing this concept to Geneva soon became obvious. Because Italian cuisine speaks to everyone and is synonymous with quality and generosity, it became the common thread running through their project. Giusi is a friendly, unpretentious sandwich shop, supported by good products and know-how. The concept is deliberately simple and well thought-out, featuring carefully selected ingredients. The bread, the central element, was developed in collaboration with a baker in Milan. Halfway between ciabatta and focaccia, it offers an airy, well-hydrated dough and a crisp crust. Once baked, it is pressed in a toaster, then topped with Italian cured meats and homemade preparations for an extremely gourmet result.

In the evening, it’s time foraperitivo, where charcuterie platters are shared over a beer, cocktail or glass of natural Swiss wine. The decor is subtly Italian, with an art deco ambience, touches of earthenware and old oak furniture. The space is divided into two atmospheres: stand-up eateries for munching your panini on the go, and a cosier corner with banquettes, for those who like to take their time. The terrace, typical of the rue de l’École-de-Médecine, completes the experience. Authentic, generous and no-nonsense, this newly opened address promises to seduce lovers of Italian products and conviviality, because here, everyone is welcome.
