With the definitive closure of Café de la Plage at the end of January, a page has been turned in Geneva’s gastronomic microcosm. By mutual agreement with the management of the Grand Théâtre, Benjamin Luzuy decided not to continue the culinary adventure at Place de Neuve. With ideas in the pipeline for the Auberge du Port Gitana in Bellevue and Casa Lulia in Nyon, in the former Hotel Real, the Gourmet Brothers boss is refocusing his attention on his hotel and culinary projects. “We’ve been doing wonderful things at the Café de la Plage for four years. With the work to come and the many projects underway, it seemed wise and reasonable to stop the adventure with the Grand Théâtre,” says Benjamin Luzuy, contacted by telephone. How could we fail to recall the exceptional moments spent enjoying the playful cuisine of Jacopo Romagnoli and, more recently, Tom Hutrel? The Café de la Plage will remain available for private events. Our thoughts are with the whole team, and we’d like to thank them for their exceptional work. See you soon for new adventures.
