Benoit Carcenat: it’s only goodbye!
We heard the news on Wednesday morning. A mixture of different sensations ran through our hearts and minds when we heard the news from the village of Rougemont. What can we say about the work accomplished by Benoît Carcenat and his wife Sabine, who proved to be exceptional in the heights of the Pays-d’Enhaut? And it’s very strange not to see this talented team again. Whatever the reasons for this departure, we simply and humbly wish to thank all those who have contributed so much to the reputation of gastronomy in French-speaking Switzerland.
How can we forget the first tasting menus, the first and second Michelin stars and the viticultural prowess of Mathieu Quetglas, currently working at CAVE SA? How can we not thank Victor Moriez, Bénoît Carcenat’s second-in-command for many years? How could we fail to mention the exceptional sweet creations of Josselin Jacquet? Over the years, each and every one of them has contributed to shaping the excellence of this fabulous house.
For fork-lovers and die-hard fans, rest assured that Benoît Carcenat and his team at the Valrose remain in place until October 4. So let’s make the most of it! Dear Benoît, we look forward to seeing you again and wish you all the best for the future. This isn’t goodbye, we’d rather say “see you soon”…
