It’s a true story about an aperitif date at Bar Sauvage. A charming young woman settles down on the uncomfortable, recycled stools of the Sauvage bar in Eaux-Vives and orders a cocktail, waiting quietly. After a second drink, she finds that time is running out and, unhappy with her suitor’s lateness, decides to call him. Prince Charming calmly picks up his mobile and confirms that he’s at the agreed location, at the appointed time and that he’s waiting for her. In fact, the couple are in two different establishments with the same name! In fact, in the space of a few months, two Sauvage bars opened their doors at almost the same time… a fantastic episode that can only be played out in Geneva! ! The City of Calvin is roaring with delight!

The story of the day began at the Bar Sauvage in Eaux-Vives. place. After a failed attempt to create yet another spot for ceviche and other Hawaiian bowls nutritionally unsuited to the human body, the Shelter group (Alma and Khora restaurants) is launching a night-time alternative in its arcade on the corner of rue Henri-Blanvalet and rue de la Mairie. With its subdued ambience, lit candles and the calm of a Tuesday evening, it’s a pleasant place to stroll and acclimatize to the start of a week that feels like the preamble to winter. The majestic, sinuous zinc, like an imposing snake, is the centerpiece of the place. While the music, in tune with the ambient mood, propels softly enchanting sounds, it’s time to let yourself be snatched by the night.

The wine list is a magnificent mix of nuggets unearthed by regional wine merchants. Highly commendable for this fine selection, which offers an eclectic, consistent choice to suit all budgets. Mattia Baracchetti guides his guests through the intricacies of the wine world with phlegm and passion. On the food side, the menu is short and seductive, in a spirit of sharing. Lake treasures
A terrine of Jussy pig, pickles and mustard seeds opens the ball. We follow this with a marvellous caviar of squash, yoghurt and mint, which we savour languorously. The vitello tonnato with fried capers is a success, if not a surprise. Fillets of lake perch are out this evening, accompanied by mushrooms and a creamy sauce served on the side, fortunately. These treasures of the lake deserve to be enjoyed in their natural state, as they should be…
Our protagonists finally found each other on a Saturday night on earth.
