Grape varieties
Cépages sommelier Sarah Pagès presents a wine made by friends. The Cuvée “Melting Potes” from Domaine Sérol. Following the terrible frost of 2021 and the loss of 40% of the harvest, the domaine’s winemakers decided to seek out organic grapes from winemaker friends all over France. A new cuvée made from a unique blend of several grape varieties: 50% Gamay, 43% Syrah and 7% Grenache vinified separately, with 20 to 40% whole bunches, and aged for 6 months in cement vats.
The result is a gourmet wine. 12.5% alcohol, with notes of red fruit and a delicate hint of spice. On the palate, a taut wine with a tangy finish, just the way we like it. It goes perfectly with a charcuterie board, rare red meat or a good raclette. The sommelier recommends opening the wine an hour before tasting, to allow it to air out gently.
