Sabi restaurant chef Muhamed Muratovic, aka "Momo", shares his vision of cooking and music.

For Muhamed Muratovic, it was the large family meals organized by his grandfather that inspired him to turn to the world of catering. After his apprenticeship at the Buffet de la gare des Eaux-Vives, where La Micheline is now located, he continued his career in Geneva’s many legendary restaurants, including Le Flacon, L’Artichaut, Café de la Paix, Bologne and Bleu Nuit.

The art of entertaining

He believes that entertaining, welcoming and spending time around a good meal are essential values in the kitchen. That’s why he surrounds himself with like-minded epicurean friends at the restaurant Sabi. Cooking without fuss, going straight to the essentials and highlighting seasonal, quality produce, while adding that little something extra that makes the dish exceptional – that’s how he likes the restaurant business. His sole ambition is to continue to do this job in the simplest, most convivial way possible, while surrounded by passionate, enthusiastic people. To cook with his feet firmly on the ground, and never lose sight of what’s essential: having a good time over an excellent meal.

Musical cuisine

According to him, music is very close to cooking; a good song, like a good dish, can touch us and mark us forever with its warm memory. “You can arrive at a place in a certain state, and change your mood just with a song”, and this is exactly what Muhamed Muratovic seeks to provoke with his dishes. In his restaurant, the music is instrumental, touching us with its melody without distracting us from the moment spent at the table. The songs he shares with us today are timeless, and can bring very different people together in the same positive energy. If a good dish can leave a lasting impression, so can a beautiful song, and it’s this symphony that we find in the kitchen of Muhamed, who shares his best musical pieces with us today.
