Yottam Ottolenghi at Mandarin Oriental

Although the news had been circulating for several weeks, it’s a small thunderclap that has sounded in Geneva’s gastronomic sky. Anglo-Israeli chef and best-selling author, Yottam Ottolenghisets down his knives at the Mandarin Oriental in Geneva. After Gaston Acurio and his Peruvian restaurant Yakumanka, it’s the turn of this vegetable-loving restaurateur to revitalize the Bistrot du Rhône arcade. With nine restaurants, delis and patisseries in London, and best known for his incredible recipe books (mostly plant-based) that have sold worldwide, Yottam Ottolenghi’s arrival in Geneva is wonderful news for our beautiful city of Calvin and beyond. While the Japanese restaurant Sachi and its “omakase” counter are a real success and never empty, the takeover of the adjacent establishment remains a major challenge for its new tenant. In any case, we’re delighted to welcome this new ambassador of taste, who will certainly contribute to Geneva’s gastronomic reputation.
