New Sando in Zurich
The entrepreneurial duo had previously tested the Swiss-German market by opening a pop-up shop for three months. Sando in the heart of Zurich’s train station. The success was overwhelming, and left Ivalu Acurio and Yoss Kakinuma (now joined by chef Marc Tritschler) keen to expand. “There was a craze that we didn’t expect at all. It really encouraged us to look for an arcade downtown,” says the founder by phone. They made themselves known and met Zurich restaurateurs who offered to set up in the heart of their establishments. This was a godsend for the duo, who, through this collaboration, were able to subtly establish themselves in the center of Zurich.
