New director at Mandarin

A British national, Paul Jones began his career in Asia with the Mandarin Oriental hotel group in 2005 as Operations Director of Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok. He was promoted to General Manager of Mandarin Oriental, Singapore in 2008, where he oversaw the successful completion of several renovations, and then to Mandarin Oriental, Taipei upon its opening in 2012. In 2016, Paul joined Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo as General Manager, where he led́ the team to new successes, such as winning numerous Awards. Among them, ranking in the “Gold List” of Conde Nast Traveller US and UK, the “Trip Advisor – Traveller’s Choice Award 2020” for the best hotel in Japan, or achieving five stars in the Forbes Travel Guide for the ninth consecutive year in 2023.
