The “Un carac pour la bonne cause” project is gaining momentum, following its launch last year by Mélanie Tanner, who became a volunteer with OSE Thérapies following a bout with breast cancer. This year, almost 100 bakeries-patisseries-confiseries throughout the French-speaking part of Switzerland will be offering the pink cake in the shape of a breast, a gourmet and offbeat nod to the disease. To promote this initiative, the association has the support of the Association Romande des Artisans Boulangers-Pâtissiers-Confiseurs (ARABPC), as well as comedians Cuche and Barbezat, ambassadors for bread and chocolate 2023. A gourmet approach to make a lasting impression throughout October, awareness month for the fight against breast cancer. 50 centimes per carac sold will be donated to OSE Thérapies, a not-for-profit association in the canton of Vaud that provides support for cancer sufferers through adapted activities.
