Pays d’Hérault “Assemblage Rouge” Maxime Renaudin 2021
Maxime Renaudin trained at La Grange des Pères and has mastered the “magic recipe” of blending the great Languedoc grape varieties. It was Laurent Vaillé, whose spiritual son he has become, who showed him how to make fresh wines from Carignan, Grenache and Syrah. Today, he produces a few thousand bottles at the foot of Pic Saint-Loup on clay-limestone soils, in the strictest confidence. These wines, aged separately for 24 months in Grange des Pères, Trevallon or Aupilhac barrels, are blended just before bottling. Today, they fetch a premium on the wine-lovers’ market. The 2021 vintage that Morgane Covido-Bellido and Charles Villa of Wine District offer today is characterized by aromas of intense black fruits, cocoa and toasted almonds.
