On the night of Sunday, October 11, through Monday, October 12, a violent fire devastated the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.paris.fr\/lieux\/marche-couvert-des-enfants-rouges-5461\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\"><strong>March\u00e9 des Enfants Rouges<\/strong><\/a>, in the heart of the Marais. The stalls were destroyed, and the metal structure partially collapsed. However, the firefighters\u2019 response prevented the flames from spreading to neighboring buildings.   <\/p>\n<h2 style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Market Kids<\/h2>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Founded in 1615, the capital\u2019s oldest covered market had found new life through its food shops and cooking stations. There, you\u2019d run into local residents and visitors who had come to savor French, Moroccan, Lebanese, or Japanese specialties. This diversity made the place much more than just a market\u2014it was a gathering spot. For the vendors who brought the market to life, the fire has ushered in a period of uncertainty, compounded by the emotional impact of the damage suffered by this historic site.   <\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This news truly saddens us. We recently had lunch at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lesenfantsdumarche.fr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\"><strong>Enfants du March\u00e9<\/strong><\/a>, run by Michael Grosman, and we have wonderful memories of that experience. Our thoughts are with all the staff at these wonderful establishments, and we wish them strength as they navigate this difficult time.
