The two companies have combined their expertise to create a paprika mayonnaise. It&#8217;s a simple idea, but one that reflects our times: the boundaries between snack and condiment are becoming blurred. The twist: Zweifel would have shared his recipe to integrate it into a product destined to last on the shelf. Timing is everything. Thomy celebrates its 75th anniversary. The story begins in 1951, in Basel, with the first industrially-produced mayonnaise tube in Europe. Since then, the brand has become firmly rooted in Swiss habits. Each household buys an average of 19 tubes of mayonnaise a year, or one product sold every second. It&#8217;s certainly not a culinary revolution. But it is a part of everyday life that is being reinvented.
