A place steeped in history, yes, but never heavy. Pure, almost instinctive taste. A rare elegance that seeks neither to seduce nor to convince. Here, nothing imposes itself. Everything is self-evident. The Tuba Club belongs to a clan, owners of those places that have almost disappeared, especially in the south: houses of the heart, sensitive shelters, where people come to meet rather than show off.

You don’t protect yourself from the world, you connect with it. A communion with the elements – the incessant surf hitting the rock, the sun offering its light like a silent blessing.

Bass and bottarga carpaccio at the Tuba Club ©Edouard Amoiel

Enveloping softness

The map speaks the same language. That of iodine, the sea and restraint. A subtle cuisine, modern without ever being demonstrative. Just right. Always right. Every detail seems whispered rather than declared. Then the oysters, awakened by a hint of preserved lemon – that tiny deviation that gives rise to emotion.

The scallops arrive in carpaccio, tangy and supported by an olive oil of measured presence. As for the raw bass, delicately sliced, it is covered with a poutargue that sublimates it without masking it. For a moment, the gourmet escapes the shore to pay homage to a great chef who has passed away.
