The history of Le Meurice<\/a> is punctuated by mythical moments and populated by legendary personalities, such as the surrealist Salvador Dal\u00ed. With its privileged location between Place de la Concorde and the Louvre Museum, the Palace is a place of tranquility opposite the Tuileries Gardens. Its many embellishments since 1835 have made it a jewel of the capital and a benchmark in the world of art and design, thanks in particular to the work of designer Philippe Starck since 2007. The following year, the creation of the Prix Meurice pour l’Art Contemporain (Meurice Prize for Contemporary Art) under the impetus of General Manager Franka Holtmann, who is passionate about the arts, was a first in the history of hotel patronage. 2013 marks a turning point for Le Meurice’s kitchens with the arrival of a new artist with an absolute palate: Alain<\/a>Ducasse<\/a>. Le Meurice took a gamble on creativity outside the box, surrounding itself with the talented Cedric Grolet, pastry chef, and rising star Amaury Bouhours, executive chef of the restaurants. Chosen and trained by Alain Ducasse, he confirms the chef’s exceptional talent for passing on the values of his environmentally-friendly cuisine. <\/p> \n \n
